Your WHO 5 moments for Hand Hygiene along the patient journey in surgery
Respecting the 5 moments of hand hygiene is a permanent challenge throughout the patient journey in surgery. “Every year, 313 million people around the world undergo surgery. Every step of the surgical process presents the potential for patients to be exposed to life-threatening infections. Improving hand hygiene practices in all surgical services through the continuum of care, from admission to discharge, is the focus of Hand Hygiene Day 2016” World Health Organization (WHO), 2016.
Join the WHO #SafeSurgicalHands to promote hand hygiene in all surgical services. Staff, patients, relatives and families: Pledge your support to the global campaign by posting your photographs and selfies using the hashtag #SafeSurgicalHands on Instagram or Twitter or by sending them to http://www.CleanHandsSaveLives.org or http://www.safesurgicalhands.pics or by email at [email protected]
