Uganda Lacrosse Documentary | Kandote

A Film by Will Mccance: KANDOTE chronicles the journey of Africa’s first national men’s lacrosse team, Team Uganda, as they work towards achieving their goal of competing in the 2014 World Lacrosse Championships held in Denver, Colorado.
The film focuses on five players with differing pasts and presents as they experience the trials and tribulations of life, love, and lacrosse. During KANDOTE, viewers will step into the lives of a group men who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS, homes to the government, and their adolescence to the violent life of an LRA child soldier, but who have all found solace, escape, and a family through the brotherhood of lacrosse.

  1. At the world championships in Denver last summer, they had an early viewing of Kandote at a movie theatre. My teammate and I got to watch it with Team Uganda and it is SO WORTH $3.99, this film will change your opinion on life and lacrosse. Amazing film.

  2. This is a truly inspiring lacrosse story. It shows that no matter where you come from as long as you put in the time, the effort, you can become anything you desire to be. It's amazing how these men worked together as a team to achieve their dreams. This movie inspires me, this team inspires me. Every player that watches this will become inspired to reveal their abilities in the fascinating sport that we all love…Lacrosse.

  3. for those who have nothing are the most willing to give everything!! Lacrosse is growing and shall forever change the lives of those who respect and honor and give to the creatures game

  4. Its because of these types of things that make me realize how truly beautiful the sport of lacrosse is. This just shows that anything is possible, these men had little to no experience at all in the game came out and played their hearts out for their country. After watching this I realized how privileged I am to have the things I have and play the sport of Lacrosse. I'd have to say my favorite part of the video was either when they found out that they had made the team, or when after making the team they got their Uganda Lacrosse shirts and shorts. The smiles on their faces lit up mine and I couldn't help but smile as well. Please TLN never stop making these videos, this is exactly what the sport need to use the potential it has.
