  2. At this point memes are a representation of cultural impact, and I think its fair to say that the Queen was one of the more culturally impactful icons for many many decades. Even as an American I held at least some respect for her, love or hate the concept of monarchy she was a pretty impressive and respectable person. The internet will be the internet and turn everything into a joke, sometimes the little bit of humor is worth it and sometimes it just gets to be a bit too much. As always there's a full spectrum ranging from "really bro" to something worth a little chuckle.

  3. i made the “buckingham palace had announced the death of blah blah blah” meme, but put the announcement of the queens death and now it’s one of my biggest videos 💀

  4. Literally in my school earlier that day the principle announced we had to pray for the queen to stay alive, and so later when it came out she was dead literally every kid burst out in laughter. Everyone immediately made jokes about her death and my best friend was laughing so hard and said that she felt so happy that the queen was dead and didn’t know why. Kinda scary ngl

  5. Queen Elizabeth II was an absolute meme icon
I think after she died, the memes have helped soften the blow
She would want us to keep laughing
    Rest in peace Elizabeth

  6. It’s a shame because she was the last royal to actually feel like she deserves the position, even though it’s hereditary. She did so much in her life and it’s sad to see that end. She was basically the grandmother of an entire nation. I know this won’t happen but I really hope they just keep her face on the currency and whatnot because I don’t really care much for Charles or really any of the other royals, although I wish them well during their grieving.

  7. None of us knew the Queen personally so it's hard to see why people Mourn her in any meaningful way beyond the fact that she was a status symbol and a cultural icon, none of these things were earned either. I feel the same way about her passing as I would a stranger. I have no really feelings beyond hoping their family well. Atleast the ones who weren't doing shady shit for decades. I'll admit though, I feel a bitterness over the fact that people are so upset about this given Britain is currently having it's healthcare system eaten alive, energy bills being an all time high, and a general cost of living crisis. I truly feel that now is not a time to be caught up in such sentimentalism toward the passing of a figurehead who lived a full life with every need catered for, and more of a time for unity and action for average families who cant even see a doctor as relatives die from cancer or any other illness. The time for elitism should be well within our past now.

  8. She is immortal, (what ever god you believe in) was like
"People are getting sus of you being immortal"
"Yea lol, we need to throw them off"
    Proceeds to die

  9. I am getting chuckles out of the memes pointing out that the memes about her being immortal are no longer relevant, but I really hate the select few memes that are just making fun of her death for no reason, as if it was a good thing that she died. I mean come on dude.

  10. Death is death, there's no need to further grief when It's a death by age, the jokes just represent her legacy, the history that was told by her and only her.

  11. I personally couldn't care less. she was just a foreign political figure, even in my country (Canada). The only reason I remember her at all is because of the memes.

  13. At this point everything can become a meme, Gen Z humour is so messed up that people will laugh at for example a fat cat (big floppa), or a piece of bread falling over

  14. Bro I was on Rockstar Games Instagram page and somebody literally said The Queen dropped before GTA 6 and man that's messed up but i sadly laughed at that and I'm sorry, may she Rest In Piece 1926-2022

  15. God Save The Queen
    She ain’t no human being
    And there’s No Future!!
    And England’s dreaming
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE
    NO FUTURE FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. another reason the queen's dead isn't as tragic to most is that probably most of the people posting these memes are from a country that isn't england, a colony, or under the church of england. It would be as like a president from another country died. it is sad, but it is kind of mostly surprising.

  17. The queen probably wouldn't care she would be happy people turned a sad thing into something to laugh over as she's always cared for us her people

  18. I myself do not live in the United Kingdom. Nor have I ever agreed with monarchy. But regardless of that, this was still a tragedy and I'm for the royal family's loss.

However of course this is the internet we're talking about, willing and ready to make something let alone anything into a meme no matter how small minuscule or impactful it may be somehow some way anything can turn to meme. Sometimes my style of humor can depend on the time or situation but I ultimately think this mean could definitely get up there with some of the biggest ones however I do see how this type of thing could be problematic.

After all, for better of for worse this generation is full of controversy. Us millennials and Gen Z are screwed.😅⚰
