STUFFED MUSHROOMS | the best vegetarian recipe for Thanksgiving & Christmas

Stuffed mushrooms are always a party favorite, especially during the holidays! Soft mushroom caps are stuffed with a cheesy, herby, and garlicky filling. Then baked until golden with crumbled pecans on top. The perfect vegetarian appetizer I’d say!

Unlike most stuffed mushroom recipes, this one is gluten-free, as I’ve swapped panko breadcrumbs for chopped pecans. And I think it really elevates the flavor! It’s truly an appetizer both vegetarian and non-vegetarians will love. And perfect for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Because everyone craves cozy, indulgent foods during the holidays right? So, let me show you how to make the best stuffed mushrooms recipe ever!

  1. Yummy, I'll have to try this!
What's crazy is just yesterday we had a pot luck at work. Someone brought in stuffed mushrooms and they were gone so quickly!
Can't wait to try to make some myself using this recipe!

  2. I've eaten SO many of these stuffed mushrooms in the past two weeks photographing and filming the recipe…. and I'm not mad about it! 🤣 Hope you guys enjoy the recipe as much as I do! xo – Lisa

  3. Wishing you a wonderful thanksgiving. I’m losing, HOPE! Im facing trials and tribulations! I’m discouraged! I lost my job over not wanting the vaccine due to my pre existing health conditions (lupus) I’m a single mother with two children both are autistic. Im so ashamed I can’t even afford Thanksgiving dinner this year. I have no family or friends that may help me. I feel all alone. Facing homelessness next month, but keeping faith! In GOD!

  4. It is a great idea to put nuts inside, I may try it with walnuts, because they are not as expensive and more available.

Would they be also tasty when cold or do they get watery then?

  5. Haven't tried this one yet but whenever I make any stuffed mushrooms the steam gets trapped inside while baking and becomes watery. Any idea how to fix this problem?

  6. I love stuffed mushrooms – but I do remember when I first got married my aunt bought me a copy of Shirley Conran's book "Life is to short to stuff a mushroom"

  7. I love your recipes but this just reinforces the need to ask what’s in dishes at parties. Those pecans would cause an allergic reaction and it would never occur to me to ask about nuts in a stuffed mushroom dish.

  8. Are they supposed to be eaten warm? And how long can you keep them?

Do you have any good breakfast ideas that aren’t eggs and pork, yes to gluten free. I’m tired of eggs and I’m tired of turkey bacon, sausage (allergic to pork). Try to stay low carb.

  9. ✨💯✨Lordy I swear I can smell-taste these through my monitor rn 🤤 — looking fwd to teeing these up for solo Thanksgiving — alongside roast Cornish Hen, my no-longer-living Mom's version of her Mom's Southern Cornbread Dressing, and my own version of mashed taters!

  10. Try marinate mushrooms before baking, it is a game changer. I just add some soy sauce, vinegar, oil and spices to mushrooms for a couple of hours before baking or grilling and that makes them perfect even without stuffing. And for stuffing I use stems, apple, cilantro and cheese. Seeet and savoury:)

  11. Thank you 🙏Lisa for this yummy dish & for the video explaining so lucidly the recipe & how to make it. 👍😎…can't wait to buy the mushrooms & try making this dish😊…(I have all the other mentioned ingredients.)
Couple Qs here…Can I use pre shredded, store bought parmesan cheese ?
Can chopped almonds be used instead of pecans?
Also can they be baked in a toaster oven under the same 400° temp? If so, for how long ?
P.S. Am also thinking in place of the cream cheese, will try stuffing with well mashed potatoes 🤔 & rest of mentioned stuffing ingredients. Please share your thoughts. 😊🙏

  12. Looks great. Have to make them. Yummy. I haven't gotten to try any of the recipes yet but I will. They all lóok so so yummy. Thank you for them and I am glad I found you. We only eat healthy.

  13. This came at the perfect time since I am going to be making stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer on Thanksgiving. Definitely will be trying this recipe!! Thank you! Oh

  14. I am in love. ❤️. This is beyond amazing. The pecans… omg….I am speechless. Thank goodness my mom lives by a mushroom farm cuz these babies are definitely gonna be a holiday fave! Great video as always! 🥳
