Attractive Miss Shirley Russell wants to become a movie star. Roarke has arrange everything including a press party to announce the signing of her contract with Arthur Gantman, the Studio Chief, for her new picture, “Wayward Wife.” Her co-star is handsome Desmond Vaughn. After a very late date with Desmond, Shirley is awakened at 5 A.M. by Liz Perry, her press agent, and taken to the studio. By 6:00 she is working on her first scene, which requires a dozen takes. She is exhausted, but Liz gives her the day’s itinerary -lunch, fan club meeting and another date with Desmond. Shirley is beginning to have her doubts about the movie business. The morning’s work is finished and a demolished Shirley is changing for her lunch date with Gantman when Roarke appears with a surprise. Shirley’s fiancée, Bill Windsor, has arrived from Omaha to share her fantasy. She barely has time to say she’ll have dinner with him, when Gantman walks in and they leave an unhappy Bill behind. That evening Shirley and Bill have just finished dinner when Gantman sits down to offer her a seven year contract with lots of publicity. She is so excited, but Gantman tells her he ordered a rewrite on her current script which now requires a nude love scene with Desmond, and Bill protests, then leaves. Shirley is confused and Liz reminds her stardom might be a lonely place and not to compromise. The next morning Gantman and the crew are setting up the nude scene. Shirley takes off her robe, but is wearing a bathing suit and Gantman tells her that is not good enough. Shirley decides it’s too high a price to pay and walks off to join Bill. Spencer and Winnie McLean arrive on Fantasy Island for what Winnie thinks is their honeymoon, since they were just married. Spencer is the notorious “Spence” Randolph of the Strawberry Hill Gang, whose fantasy is to reunite the old gang for one last job. Thomas Prentiss greets Spence, and while he is upset to see the blackmailer, he gives Prentiss his permission to escort
