During the filming of The Hobbit, there was an interesting challenge involving Beorn’s axe. Initially, the production team had planned for one normal-sized axe and one large axe for visual effect when dwarves were nearby. However, when Peter Jackson saw the small axe intended for chopping wood, he thought it was too small. The responsible team member quickly drove to a blacksmith, who managed to craft a larger axe in under an hour. The team then rushed the axe back to the set, allowing filming to continue smoothly.
