  1. This is amazing Iskra, so real and down to earth. Often it feels like we shy away from the realities which is such a disservice! Thank you for keeping it real ❤️

  2. Omg this is like the best postpartum video I've ever seen. You are so informational!!! Thank you for being so genuine and HUMAN! Telling us the nitty gritty ❤️ congrats to you and your family!

  3. This video was so informative! Thank you for sharing your postpartum experience! This definitely helped me and I'm sure it will help other women who don't get this kind of honest take on your birth journey. ❤❤

  4. You're lovely, Iskra! Our baby's due date is September 18th, and my wife and I are so excited. Being a father is going to be such an honor, and experience. Thank you for sharing motherhood in so many aspects. We love you!

  5. Lay on your side and support you with your arms every time you need to sit up – you should do that for months. It's very important not to engage your streight abdimonals. As a postpartum yoga teacher i can't stress enough the importance of doing special postpartum exercices for recovery and strengthening the pelvic floor. Wishing you and your family all the best ♥️

  6. I just want to give you a hug! Everything you’re saying is exactly how I felt with my first son. It all gets easier I promise! You’ve got it. Remember to keep looking after yourself 💗

  7. whoaaa…so much to remember…so much to note down.. I bet your videos are gonna help me in future when I become a mum! Thanks a lot for doing this Iskra <3

  8. My son had his days and nights mixed up. Slept great during the night, awake almost all night. I was a basket case. We had to keep him up more in the day,to switch him over.

  9. Thanks for being so open and informative. I swear since I've turned 25 everyone keeps asking me….. when are you going to have a baby? Or what are you waiting for? And I keep saying am not ready, then they insists it's better to start now than to wait too late. Videos like these always reminds me that pregnancy isn't easy and as pretty as it seems. Especially postpartum which I feel like people don't really talk about

  10. Getting induced in 6 days and this was so helpful! I can’t wait to keep hearing and learning more about your experience! Thank you for sharing!

  11. THANK YOU for being so real and TMI. There is not enough TMI talks about birth and postpartum, even from medical providers, and women are totally put at a disadvantage from the get go. Thank you for sharing and normalizing these kinds of conversations.

  12. Firstly, congratulations on bringing some LIFE into the world with all the chaos outside. I've always loved watching you be a strong advocate for all things human/personal and emotional, and this is no different. Here for it <3. My mom is a postpartum, mother/baby, nurse (has been for years) and I'm the only girl of the family… Needless to say, I've heard about all the things that can (and do) go wrong during pregnancy and delivery; the things that are challenging and rough to get through, especially for 1st-time moms. I really felt you captured the reality of having a newborn well. There definitely aren't enough videos showing people all that you sign up for when you have a pregnancy and start a family.

I think it helps so much, more than any "what to expect when you're expecting" book can, to see someone human (like we all are) going through the gritty of newborn/motherhood postpartum experience. Like, okay, a book can describe what it may be like for some. But living it? Seeing another human going through that? It makes a much more profound impact.

    Great video, darling!

Wishing you all the best and hope you get to feeling more stable soon <3 <3 All the love and good vibes for youu.

  13. I wish I did more to prevent tearing😭 I gave birth june 20 and I had a 2nd degree tear and stitches inside and outside.. also unmedicated birth.. and I am STILL in pain and have a hard time walking.😓

  14. THANK YOU for putting this out into the universe! The "fourth trimester" has been the hardest part of having children for me. I appreciate you being so transparent and honest! So many moms are afraid that people will think they're ungrateful for their babies if they complain at all and I feel like that's a disservice to those who've not had children and don't know what to expect.

  15. Iskra you are someone who I look up to so much! You are the reason why I am more comfortable in my skin because we are similar in size. I absolutely love that you made this video because my husband and I are trying to conceive this year. This is so so helpful! Can’t wait for your video about how to prevent tearing.

  16. This is so so so helpful! I love how open you are and we need more of this for all mamas! My husband and I will start a family soon and we need more honest videos, nothing sugar-coated! Thank you Iskra 💕☺️

  17. This is so helpful. I’m 34 weeks pregnant. Knew about some of the things but it is so good to hear the good, the bad and the ugly for sure 👍🏼☺️

  18. Thank you SOOOO much for this. I am currently one week postpartum and it’s so nice to feel like I’m not the only one experiencing these things. You are so right – pregnancy is gradual but postpartum so many things happen at once it is very overwhelming. Thank you for being so honest. And best of luck with your sweet babe! 💕

  19. Nice to see a truthful account of those first weeks post partum! It’s such a shock it’s almost funny! Having a mate certainly helps! Found same with no 1 3 years ago – feel much more prepared for no 2 in couple months!

  20. Congratulations Iskra 😘 This is such an informative video. So many things I didn't know happened after birth. Im definitely rewatching all your pregnancy videos when I eventually decide to have kids.

  21. I'm 2 weeks post baby, everything you're saying is exactly what I'm going through. I really wish I slept more. I keep saying. I'd gladly be pregnant for 9 months and push the baby out all over again. What's really hard is postpartum. My boy had jaundice and was underweight but a week later cause baby has high metabolism. This bit right here is the hard part. I was using pads though and down to panty liners at the moment. Oh and I'm not emotional, think I am the opposite, which is strange cause I'm an emotional person. Did have one emotional breakdown cause my parents were stressing me out. I really wish I did more perennial massages, took the raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose but I tore and needed stitches but you don't feel the tear during birth but you do feel it when doctor gives you two painkiller injections in your vjj post baby while baby is on your chest and stitches you up 😂 More conversations like this need to be had and shared. Not sure why so much information is still not available when this has been happening to half the population of the planet since the beginning of man. More open and honest sharing of information will only aid women better in coping with pregnancy and postpartum issues. I found that information is vital but I had to source all my info manually. Kinda wish there was more easily accesible info readily available for all women so this most amazing experience doesn't feel so lonely. So, thank you 🙏🏽💕

  22. Thank you for sharing all of these things with us! I’m also planning a natural home birth. I’m 38 wks and 3 days right now. I feel like I’m just a few steps behind you and everything your learning/sharing is so helpful and bringing me a lot of peace about the situation ❤️ Much Love ❤️

  23. I’m 28 weeks with my third and having a homebirth in Austin as well. I remember how hard the switch was from not having a kid to having my first. Such a shift in identity and lifestyle. By the third, it’s pretty natural and not as hard of a transition. Lack of sleep is always hard with a newborn and breastfeeding is different with every baby. Great honest video on postpartum.

  24. Thank you for sharing, if I don't go into labour naturally in 4 days I'll have to have a C-section (repeat), 😩 I don't want that. You're reminding me of what it's like to be a fresh mom again and starting over. My goodness!

  25. There actually is a hormone that is released to relax muscles and ligaments, it is called: Relaxing. That's why you feel so soft!

  26. The truth is appreciated!! Especially for me who does not have children!! I need more details on the anti-tearing techniques!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for the truth of PP and not the sugar coated one ❤️🥰😘

  27. I just had my baby 2 weeks ago, this was super re assuring to see that it’s not just us struggling to adjust lol 😍😍 your so awesome thank you x

  28. Gatorade/Powerade is always great for making breast milk! A lot of the time we can’t get 4000 calories or feel disgusted putting that much away and Gatorade really helps because of the electrolytes!

  29. You're just soo amazing! Your first baby and your sending out lots of beautiful advice to other women. You're such a beautiful woman and have a beautiful soul ♡ I'm not even pregnant, but I will definitely come back to this later in life when I need. Thank you so much Iskra. Your lil' baby is so gorgeous. Take care and sending lots of love to you and your family ♡♡ xxxx

  30. Try and use the App Baby Daybook. My daughter uses it since day 1 and her daughter is a year old.
She shares the App with me and her husband.
    Download it. It's free.
    She is still breastfeeding.
    Good luck.

  31. Omg some get her on Chatty broads with bekah and Jess! I would love to hear a episode of her birth story on their podcast 😮 they would love her as a guest I feel!

  32. This is amazing and informative!! Thank you so much Iskra! I'm 23 weeks pregnant now and this kind of info is so important for the future! Love for you and your beautiful family <3

  33. Thank you, you wonderful woman. Felt like a big sister or best friend telling me about what to prepare for and I'll be watching this again one day I'm sure. I know so many women feel so alone in mothering, and videos like this pull your mentality out of that isolation you can end up putting yourself in. Love you, Iskra!

  34. I washed my hair everyday and always have time for myself even though I have a one month old.. We don’t even have my family close by it’s just me and my partner. Maybe everyone is different so don’t say it’s going to be a huge nightmare you may have a very settled baby too 🙂
