A Los Angeles County fire captain stopped a suspected looter from stealing an Emmy award from the wreckage of a home in Altadena amid the ongoing Eaton Fire.
Craig Heard, who was leading a firefighting crew in the area, spotted a woman in a white truck loaded with various items, including the prestigious Hollywood award.
Heard confronted the woman and took away the golden statue despite her claims that the items were hers and she was not a looter.
A neighbor later identified the Emmy as belonging to Inness Shadrick, executive producer of the 2002 PBS documentary Ansel Adams: A Documentary Film.
