Down to Earth

Acclaimed as “the funniest man in America,”* Chris Rock delivers a first-rate performance in this romantic comedy about a man who gets a second chance at life and love. Struggling black comic Lance Barton (Rock) knows what it’s like to die on stage. But when his life takes an unexpected turn – straight to heaven – Lance is sure there’s been a mistake. Miraculously, he’s right! An angel tells Lance he was taken prematurely but assures him he can be returned to Earth – in the aged body of a ruthless white billionaire. In this improbable reincarnation, Lance begins a hilarious quest to realize his showbiz dream…and, along the way, discovers the person he never imagined he could be. Co-starring Regina King and based on the hit film Heaven Can Wait, Down To Earth is a “bold and brilliant comedy.”** *Shawn Edwards, FOX-TV **Kimberly C. Roberts, THE PHILADELPHIA TRIBUNE

  1. It's funny because he is so lost in his previous life and understanding that he doesn't get it… it's his mothafuckin money he would lose if he took the bullet wound head mothafucka who probably ain't gonna pay taxes or live a life that gets them anywhere other then hell… shit. He so lost in the pussy and he can pay for the prime booty now. 🤪

  2. This really makes black people look bad. Like they are obliviously lost in the trapping of their value system based in we as a group… like come the fuck on there is no group or community. Shit look at the ghetto it's like the apitamy of white society at its finest greed dominants power based in cash and what you wear. Like damn yall just wanna be a part of English society.

  3. Chris is actually really good at acting because I can tell when he doing Lance that no account broke ass jammy mothafucka and when he doing real stand up shit. Impressive.

  4. When will smith slapped him and I saw the look on his face took me back to being a bullied and not knowing what to do about it.

  5. It's interesting how Mr. Smith's movies are loud, brash, and bombastic, and Mr. Rock's movies are subtle, thought provoking, funny, and endearing. Who says life doesn't imitate art? Two funky snaps up for the soundtrack.

  6. Damn man I was 11 years old when this dropped I remember going to block busters after my mom took me to see this movie and I rented GTA 3 and my life was changed forever that day lol

  7. So Chris Rock gets bitch slapped and now he is everywhere… Even putting his movies up… Ooo and let's not forget about all the new "lifelong" fans … So stupid!!

  8. 43:5044:50 the world's hypocrisy finally comes full circle, accept us – make us equal – love us… But you can't talk like us, nor sing our songs.
Blind people don't know if the spoken word is racist without another sighted person to tell them – something wrong there.

  9. Im completely shocked by the actions of both entertainers for one yes Chris is a comedian but before that he is a human as is Jada and he should have been more compassionate to the ailment that she suffers instead of making a joke about it I'm sure that was not only cruel but it was hurtful to both Jada and will which is why Will Smith acted the way he did so that doesn't excuse his actions will she be ashamed for the way that he displayed himself on National Television not only to his family but to Chris Rock's family as well what kind of role model do you want to be for your children Will Smith you should be ashamed of your actions I mean just look at the response your son gave on Twitter his reply was "and this is how we do it" unacceptable I'm just completely appalled by both entertainers in the way they acted and on a side note the people letting will stay and accept his award how embarrassing it almost makes you wonder if it was staged because any normal people would have removed him from the entire engagement anyways that's just my opinion

  10. I really enjoyed this. Chris Rock is really talented. I hope he gets back into movies. I definitely want to give him my support after how well he handled Smith. Such poise! Mad respect!

  11. I feel a lot of the references Chris makes about him being poor as kid are true. He made the same reference in 'Everybody Hates Chris' talking about unplugging the clock from the wall since you can't tell time while you sleep.

  12. Somehow YouTube knew I was thinking about this movie after the Oscar Slap. Then I see it in my recommended. In my opinion this is one of Chris Rocks best movies.

  13. He said, "swine flu" lmao this was made in 2001; ahead of the infamous swine flu, which sucked to have btw, I even got vaccinated against it because I was pregnant and highly pressured. Anyways, guess it was a thing before it was a thing, like avian bird flu…I guess and corona viruses, sars ect ect. Glad this was shared, I enjoyed rewatching it after all this time.

  14. Wasn't planning to watch this tonight, but watched it from beginning to end, that was a great movie !
Chris and Wanda have only aged 10 years in the last 20 years !

  15. This movie will always be special to me in a weird sort of way. This is the movie that me and my friends were watching while we were skipping school the very day the twin towers got hit. Of course her mom was at work and had no clue we were there invading her fridge during school hours lol. To add to that, her mom had a gigantic picture of the twin towers on the wall. That was so ironic. I'll never forget it. 9/11/2001
Don't worry, we ALL graduated and went on to college lol. #BackInTheDays

    SHOUTOUT TO CHRIS ROCK 💪🏾

  16. Love this movie, first time seeing it. But.. they really made that snoop album a part of an nft label. FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKK YOU I can't relive this movie on spotify anymore.. I fking hate the seduction of money..
