Young Ferino wants to avenge his father, an ex-sergeant who was dismissed from the Army because he failed to apprehend Zorro. Bernardo tries to convince his friend Ferino that it is not Zorro’s fault his father lost his job. Ferino’s father is unable to find a job, and has to prospect for gold in the river to earn a living, but then, an accident puts him on his back. Bernardo and Ferino take his place on the river, and Ferino finds a large nugget that Gabriel confiscates. Zorro comes to the rescue, and Ferino retrieves the nugget, and changes his opinion about Zorro.
