It’s a sad day today, here at Manchester Airport as we say goodbye to the last and fina jet2 Boeing 757 as it departs on its retirement flight to St Athan.
G-LSAI is the final 757 of the fleet to retire after completing her last commercial flight on Sunday, the 5th of January 2024. A favourite of many the 757 has graced our skies for many decades however now there will be no more UK based 757 aircraft left.
Jet2 have been replacing their 757 fleet with brand new A321n aircraft and so now the time has come to bed farewell to the 757 and cherish the many memories of all the holidays and city breaks that this brilliant aircraft has taken so many people on over the years!
We will be here at Manchester Airport live to bring you all the action and give this beautiful aircraft the sand off it deserves!
We will also be telling you about our flight on Sunday where we flew out on this aircraft to Geneva on the last 757 passenger departure out of Manchester Airport, the snow didn’t stop us and it gave us ample opportunity to speak to both captains on board and have a nosy in the flight deck. Also tell you about the amazing takeoff, exceptional in-flight service, and one of the smoothest landings I’ve ever had on a plane!

Let’s also hope for minimal disruption at Manchester Airport after a few days of snow causing the airport to close on a couple of occasions, flight delays and cancelled flights!

We want to catch the best movements at Manchester. Our heavy arrivals such as the Emirates A380, Qatar 777, Etihad 787. Singapore A350, Virgin Atlantic A330, TUI 787, Aer Lingus A330 etc arrive from around 6am so we always try and catch the best movements for you to enjoy!
